Sažetak A closer look is presented at reusability in software development. In particular, object-oriented design is discussed. However, before turning to reviewing the recent results in object-oriented software reuse, such as design patterns, a survey of general principles and methods in software reuse takes place. Prospects of software reuse and its impact on software development in becoming an engineering discipline are stressed. Prospects connected and implied by using the Java language for a possible world wide reuse are shortly discussed.
