Criticism of Society – Delict of Opinion!?

Sažetak

The goal of intellectuals, as it is seen in this paper, is to critically transcend and not to defend the existing reality. In contemporary society (as well as in the past) this type of intellectual is often proclaimed to be heretic and is treated as marginal. This marginalization is the result of the efforts of political pragmatics, apologists of the dominant ideology and of the conservative viewpoint. The aim of this paper is to show how the suppression of freedom of thought means the suppression of humanity and of the possibility for radical change in society.
