Sažetak

In distinction from majority of approaches which tend to find out the relation between job satisfaction and individual motivation, this survey tends to find out how membership of specific social groups influences individual’s job satisfaction. Social groups are defined by their position in the actual technical division of labour. Therefore characteristics of particular »job« are common to the members of particular social group. Results of this survey indicate that the division of labour produced different status for each kind of job. Job satisfaction, in this context, can be determined as acceptance of conditions and status associated with particular job. Dissatisfaction with job can be the expression of wish to change the status or of individual need to achieve working conditions and status due to specific group. Membership to a social group defines the boundaries within which job satisfaction can be expressed. Within those boundaries the behaviour of individuals is rational.
