A Theoretical Grounds of Hermeneutics

Sažetak

One of the classical problems in the social sciences is examined in the article: how to define the subject and methods of sociology. Using different examples from different authors from philosophy and sociology the author shows the importance of »understanding sociology«. The works of M. Adler, Dilthey, G. Simmel, M. Weber, and others are analyzed as well as of some contemporary authors.
The author concludes his article by commenting on the Habermas' judgment of instrumental and hermeneutical use of mind which, according to his opinion explains a lot why hermeneutics is more and more used in the contemporary sociology.
