Chromatographic Identification of Alkaloid Bufotenine in the Roman Nettle (Urtica pilulifera L.)

Sažetak
Leaves and stems of the Roman nettle were frozen and homogenized in cold methanol (+3°C) and extracted several times with the same solvent.
The separation of the compound was achieved on the ALOa (Activity II—III, Merck) column. The indole alkaloid bufotenine was identified by comparison of Rf values and colour reactions with authentic sample of bufotenine.
