Chromosomes of Some Orchis-Species from Dalmatia

Sažetak

There are 16 species of the genus Orchis in the flora of Yugoslavia. The chromosomes of four of them, originating from Dalmatia, have been investigated in this study. Their numbers are: O. tridentata 2n = 42, O. morio 2n = 36, O. italica 2n = 42, O. quadripunctata 2n = 42 (probably analysed for the first time). In the chromosomes of all four species there are heterochromatic legions localized mainly near the telomeres.
