Sažetak

Leopoldsberg (425 m) in the north of Vienna shows a great variety of plant communities, unique for the Flysch zone, caused by the exposition of the slopes.
The southern slope is covered by Quercus pubescens-forests: the more or less shrubby Coronillo coronatae-Quercetum (prov.) and the higher growing Corno-Quercetum on deeper soils. Moreover, different types of xerothermic grassland can be found on this side. On the particularly steep and stony northeastern slope facing the river Danube grows a lime-tree-fofest (Aceri-Tilietum). On the northern slope a beech forest is present (Galio odorati-Fagetum and Convallario-Fagetum prov. on drier soils), while the rather flat ridge of the mountain is covered by an oak-hornbeam-forest (Galio-Carpinetum).
The differences in micro-climate are great between the Quercus pubescens-farests and the beech- and lime-tree-forests, while there are no significant differences between the latter communities.
