Sažetak

The island of Korčula is one of the large Adriatic islands in terms of size, with its surface area of 276 sq km, while it is one of the group of southern Dalmatian islands in terms of geographic location (Rubić 1952). With numerous small islands it makes up the island cluster of Korčula.
As to vegetational and bioclimatic aspects (Trinajstić 1978— 1979, Trinajstić and Sugar 1984) the vegetation of this region is partially in the stenomediterranean, partially in the eumediterranean zone of the mediterranean-coastal belt, or the hemi-mediterranean zone of the mediterranean-coastal belt, or the hemi-mediterranean zone and epimediterranean vegetational zone of the mediterranean-mountain vegetational belt.
Data on the inventory of flora in the Korčula island cluster for a period of over 150 years have been published in a number of papers (Visiani, 1842—1852, 1872—1881, Nikolić 1888, Vončina 1912, Hayek 1913, Fleischmann 1914, Forenbacher 1914, Keller 1915, Morton 1916, Rohlena 1932, 1933, 1934, Rechinger 1934, Hellmayr 1939/41, Maillefer 1940, Bracanović 1941, Hor- vatić 1958, 1961/62, 1963, Pevalek 1959, Jovančević 1961, Hodak, 1963, Trinajstić 1964, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1978—1979, O n o- fri, 1967, 1969, Trinajstić and Lj. Regula-Bevilacqua 1968, Gjivoje 1969. Ungar and Lj. Regula-Bevilacqua 1970, Barčić 1974).
On the basis of this data it has been ascertained that the flora of the Korčula island cluster includes, today, a total of 917 taxons of so-called vascular plants, and this paper publishes 169 taxons of the first time, marked in the text with an asterisk (*).
