Comparative Karyolog'ical and Palynological Investigations of Crepis incarnata (Wulf.) Tausch and C. dinarica (Beck) Šiljak-Yakovlev et T. Wraber

Sažetak
According to Sell (Flora Europaea) Crepis incarnata is identical with C. praemorsa subsp. dinarica. Questioning the correctness of such a taxonomic treatment the Authors made a comparison of both taxa.
The results of karyological and palynological studies demonstrate that, within the Crepis praemorsa group, C. incarnata represents a well differentiated taxon, especially in relation with the taxonomically nearest C. dinarica.
Both species have a karyotype with the characteristic distribution of heterochromatin bands. Some of the pollen characters (shape and number of spinules) contribute to the better distinction of both species.
In accordance with our present and earlier work it is possible to distinguish, within the C. praemorsa group, four taxa, i.e. four independent species (Crepis praemorsa s. str., C. froelichiana, C. incarnata, C. dinarica), all of them well characterized geographically, ecologically and genetically.
In such a way C. incarnata regains the species status already attributed to it many times in the past.
