Sažetak

This work is a study of the phenotypic impact of sex on gain and meatiness of carcasses of the Arbor Acres chickens. The study was made on 30 male and female Arbor Acres chickens at age of 42 days. The phenotypic interactions between age and body weight as well as regression equations (males: y = 129.46 x 1 .508, females: y = 137.44 x 1 ,424) were cetermined. By dissection at main joints the following was observed: - percentage share of breast and drumsticks with thigs, - the yield of gainded tissue and bones in these joints, - the percentage share of abdominal fat. The growth rate (sp) has been manifested in males 0,76 and in females 0,72. The results of the indicators observed clearly show that sex afects the quality of chicken carcasses
