Sažetak

This review shows mean (¯x), standard deviation (SD) and coefficient of variability (C, %) of chemical composition, energy and protein values of over 100 feedstuffs (2650 samples) used in Croatia. The chemical composition and nutritive value of each forage species are given in relation to vegetative stage and preservation systems. Net energy values (net energy for lactiation - NEL and net energy for growth and fattening – NEGF are given in MJ/kg DM) and protein values (digestible crude protein - DCP, metabolisable protein – MP are given in g/kg DM) of feeds are estimated using own models. The average chemical composition 71.4% concentrate feeds have similar or higher mean values (PC, EE and NET) than in European Table of Energy Values for Poultry Feeds (1989), while 81,5% of protein feeds have similar or higher mean value when compared to DLG - Futtenrwerttabellen für Wiederkauer (1991). In the same time concentrate are more Variable (s, C,%) than British feeds in UK Tables of Nutritive Value and Chemical Composition of Feedingstuffs (1990). Forages are very variable in chemical composition and nutritive value. Corn silage have good nutritive value, but hays are poor quality (86,7% samples contain less than 100 g CP and 80 g MP/kg QM). In the future, mineral composition should be determined, as well as protein degradability and in vitro organic matter digestibility of all feeds, contain of starch in concatenate and structural carbohydrate in forages.
