Mechanical pruning of fruit trees

Sažetak

Beside the reduction of production costs, machines for tree pruning and thinning of the apple tree canopy, significantly reduce the need for the use of chemicals for thinning and growth controlling whereby the mechanical thinning should be introduced simultaneously. Unfortunately, the road to success is not easy, therefore, the correct term of pruning (red bud, 10-12 true leaves on the branches or after harvest), which depend on the variety and development of trees, should be investigate first. Before the introduction of this machine into the practice the orchardist is suggested to make his own tests in local orchards and varieties to avoid too much disappointment if the use of this technique failed after several years.
