Sažetak
The first association that is evoked when tobacco is mentioned is smoking, which is logical since the most important application of tobacco as a raw material is in cigarette industry, everything else is irrelevant. The producer’s aim in tobacco production is a leave that contains over 4000 chemical ingredients. The most famous among them is alkaloid nicotine.
The most spread and organized tobacco production in the Republic of Croatia is in the area of VirovitiËko-podravska county (wider area of PitomaËa, Virovitica and Slatina), and Slavonsko-požeška county (wider area of Kutjevo and Požeška oval valley). In teh world there are many different types and sortas of tabacco, and in its production in Croatia mentioned above there are two different types: VIRGINIA and BURLEY.
