Sažetak System for automatic control of railway vehicles (ACRV) represents an unavoidable contribution to the increase of safety level in the management of railway traffic as a whole. The ACRV system enables prevention of malfunctions and irregular events by means of early detection of irregularities, reducing damages to the minimum and preventing additional damages, which directly affects traffic safety and enables savings in the operation of railway infrastructure and vehicles. The basic unit of the ACRV system is the measuring station, which includes infrastructure measuring devices required for the supervision of the status of railway vehicles and accompanying devices and equipment. Timely detection and recognition of irregularities enables a speedy reaction, which increases the availability of infrastructure and mobile capacities with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the railway system.
