Sažetak

Delta-aminolevulinic acid dehydratase (ALA-D) activity was measured before and after the same dose of alcohol administered to nine subjects; six of them were the patients with no known exposure to lead and three were the patients with overt lead poisoning. In all these subjects other laboratory parameters characteristic of lead action were also determined. It was found that alcohol induced temporary inhibition of the ALA-D activity; in subjects with no lead exposure this activity was depressed though still maintained within the normal limits, while in patients with lead poisoning the already low activity was more depressed.
