Sažetak Physical principles of the laser are described and its application in biological and medical investigations as well as in medical practice is dealt with. In biological investigations the laser is employed in the study of cell structure. Its application in medicine involves the use in ophthalmology, surgery and dentistry. A number of medical investigations is concerned with the study of the effects of laser radiation on cancerous tissue. The necessity of personnel protection against laser radiation is emphasized.
