Sažetak
Jasmine moth, Margaronia (Palpita) unionalis Hubner, generally doesn't have significant economic impact on olives, because it occurs in some, often very limited areas. In costal Croatia it's present only in certain areas of olive cultivation, so long regarded as less significant and therefore less known pest in olive orchards. However, in recent years, jasmine moth becomes very important pest of young orchards and young nursery plants, where can cause a significant damage (up to 90 %). Damage is caused by larvae feeding on terminal buds, young leaves, shoots and fruits. First adults appear at the beginning of spring. In our climatic conditions during the year it usually produces three generations. Control measures against jasmine moth are carried out only in the young orchards and nurseries. Adult orchards are treated only when the fruit is affected. Insecticides listed in this paper have shown effectiveness in controlling jasmin moth, but most of them don't have permission for use in Croatia.
