Sažetak Museum (memory + creativity) = social change, prompted 113 museums and arts institutions in 68 cities in Croatia to organise
over 300 diverse events. A special emphasis was placed on the viewpoint that the museum was a place for informal education.
Projects that involved innovative and multi-perspective ways of presenting museum material were featured in considerable
numbers. Among a number of creative projects, particularly needing to be picked out is that of the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb,
which headed the museum educational game Museum Talkers and organised a rich programme for the occasion designed for children, while Koprivnica Municipal Museum opened a dynamic, multimedia and interactive exhibition called Hot Soup dedicated to the Koprivnica youth culture of the 1970s and 1980s. This event was the centre of the marking of European Long Night of Museums, which this year was celebrated by as many as 55 museums. In 2013 the project for making a thematic poster was an experimental new departure for MDC. The point of departure was an interdisciplinary platform, the object being to involve young designers in the making of the poster – collaboration with the Croatian Designers Association. A roundtable was organised as introduction to the project, and a competition was carried out for an educational thematic workshop, and an organised workshop for the making of the concept of the poster was run, during which several proposals were elaborated. The design proposal of Marta Puntijar was selected, which represented the theme with two bird motifs – the Vučedol dove, symbol of the museum heritage of Croatia, and the bird logo of Twitter, the social medium. These motifs suggest two different forms of communication, in which the values of the heritage are interpreted in a new manner. Thanks to them a creative space was provided for new identities to be developed in the current time concomitantly with the preservation and exchange of opinions.
