Sažetak
The material of the holding HR-DAPA-303 contains documents of the Town’s Catering Company Poreč from 1948 to 1955. The summary inventory of the holding contains information about the postwar beginnings of tourism in Poreč. Political and economic circumstances in the period after the war affected the recognition of tourism as an economic potential important for improving the economic situation in the country as well as an activity that brings multiple benefits. Not only did the establishment of catering companies start changing the image of the economy in the local context but it also opened up the possibilities for using the tourism resources of the country as a significant potential in a wider context. The activity of the Town’s Catering Company was aimed at offering accommodation and preparing and serving food and beverages as well as organising entertaining events. When this company stopped working, its material was stored in the record office of the municipality’s governing body, that is, in the Council’s record office of the Municipality of Poreč, together with the material of liquidated companies from the area of Poreč and its surroundings. In 1973 it was acquired by the Archives. Part of the material contains private information so because of its protection it is temporarily unavailable.
