THE RESOURCE BASIS OF WINTER TOURISM IN THE MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS OF CROATIA

Sažetak

The article examines the natural resources essential for the development of winter mountain tourism. The study involves the mountainous regions covering 7913 km2 or 14.0% of the area of Croatia.
Upon surveying the geomorphologie and climatic resources, which, according to the opinion of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO) constitute the resource basis of winter mountain tourism, the orographic units deemed most favourable for the development o f this type of tourism have been mapped.
