Sažetak

A short review is given of the development of methods for measuring gamma radiation of the human body, the general requirements for high sensitivity and the properties of scintillators. Some of the techniques of whole-body counting, calibration, data processing, and the applications and functions of whole-body counters are mentioned as well.
