CONCEPT DESIGN FOR THE SPLIT-TROGIR RAILWAY LINE

Sažetak
A quality transport link between Split Airport and the region it serves is an important factor for regular operation and the competitiveness of air to other transport modes. Airports expansion is in progress, and road traffic routes between Split, Kaštela and Trogir are even today over capacity. This indicates the necessity of searching for new traffic link solutions on the existing rail infrastructure by expanding urban-suburban rail network from Split via Split Airport to Trogir. In this paper, a number of variant solutions for the construction of a single track railway line from Kaštel Kambelovac to Trogir have been proposed and evaluated, taking into account the existing infrastructure corridors, estimated construction costs, transportation capacity and travel time.
