Sažetak

Antibiotics are one of the most commonly used drug classes in clinical practice. When used according to instructions and guidelines, antibiotics are relatively safe with rare adverse drug reactions (ADR). However, some antibiotics can cause clinically significant ADR which may complicate the treatment and the disease outcome. Antibiotic-induced ADR complicate the course of treatment, contribute to diagnostic confusion and increase medical costs. In addition, consequent change of antibiotics leads to the emergence of drug-resistant organisms. Here we describe the ADR of most commonly prescribed antibiotics in clinical practice.
