Sažetak

Book review:
International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) prepared a Manual on International Maritime
Law, which is divided into three volumes. This text represents a summary of 680 pages of
the IMLI Manual, Volume II, dedicated to the Shipping law. The Manual is divided into 23
chapters, written by scholars or practitioners specialised in the respective area of the Shipping
law. Special emphasis has been put on the latest developments of the Shipping law and international
legal instruments regulating its specific areas. The Manual analyses all important
issues of the Shipping law, including ship registration; ship sale and shipbuilding contracts;
ship management and finance; security interests in ships; carriage of goods and passengers
by sea; maritime labour law; law of maritime safety; law on collisions; law on salvage and
wrecks; general average; law on towage and pilotage; arrest of ships; limitation of liability for
maritime claims; and law of maritime insurance. The style of the book is clear and systematic.
It is a valuable work in the field of the Shipping law. We recommend it to everyone with
practical or academic interest in the Shipping law.
