Alginats as compresses in the treatment of wounds

Sažetak

Authors give a review of using alginates in the treatment of wounds with high exudate (deep defects of tissue, chronic wounds). Our statement is supported by professional references stating experiences and results of numerous randomized clinical evaluations, as well as trials on animals. The use ot alginate dressings challenge quality support in the management of chronic wounds, and together with important pharmacoeconomical advantage folloving the use there of, represent best recommendation for a broad use of alginate dressings in hospitals, surgery and home care conditions.
