Note-Making and Citation Systems in Professional or Scientific Texts

Sažetak
The paper presents a survey of creating notes, commenting
on the application and comparing the use of three accepted
methods for correctly quoting and creating references
throughout a professional or scientific text. These are,
according to the international norm for the form, content
and structure of bibliographic references (ISO 690-1987):
the method of running notes, method of numeric references and method of first element and date. The opinion is given
that each of the methods has its optimal professional and
scientific environment, in whose discourse it best fulfills its
functions.
