In seiner symphonischen Dichtung Sunčana polja nutzt Blagoje Bersa – mittels textlicher, aber auch klanglicher Deskription – zur Repräsentation Dalmatiens nicht nur Elemente der musikalischen Gattung Pastorale, sondern auch die etablierte Metapher einer sonnenbeschienenen Landschaft, die er durch die Interpolation katholischer Liturgieformeln zur Evokation einer transzendenten ›regio mystica‹ verklärt. Bersa zeichnet damit das Bild eines ›erwachenden‹ Dalmatiens, wie es vom kroatischen Nationalromantiker Petar Preradović vorformuliert worden war, erweitert es jedoch im Sinne romantischer Gattungsverschränkung und intensiviert auf diese Weise entscheidend dessen Suggestionspotenzial. // In his symphonic poem Sunčana polja Blagoje Bersa uses techniques of textual and tonal description in order to portray Dalmatia. Apart from genre-specific elements of pastoral music, he also uses well-established metaphors of a landscape bathing in sunshine, which by inserting Catholic liturgical formulas he elevates to an evocation of a transcendent ›region mystica‹. In so doing, Bersa paints a picture of an awoken Dalmatia, which had previously been formulated by the Croatian romantic poet Petar Preradović. However, he further develops this imagery in the sense of romantic genre hybridity, thus intensifying its suggestive potential.
