Sažetak

The authors have reviewed haemodynamical changes in large cerebral arteries, applying the transcranial Doppler sonography in some cases of headache. The report included 75 patients; 20 patients with tension-type, vascular and posttraumatic headache, respectively, as well as 15 patients suffering from migraine. In cases of tension-type headache, in 75% of the patients after transcranial Doppler sonography the medical finding was changed into symmetrical acceleration in carotid siphon, medial cerebral artery or anterior cerebral artery, whereas the asymmetry could be reported in 20% of the patients. In cases of post-traumatic headache, in 50% of the patients the medical report was changed into asymmetry and lateralization, mostly with accelerated circulation in the carotid siphon region as well as in medial and anterior cerebral arteries. However, the unilateral deceleration occurred frequently, too. The medical finding in cases of non-migraine vascular headache was changed in 60% of the patients into equally symmetrical accelerated circulation through all arteries. As a result of the transcranial Doppler application, the medical report in cases of migraine headache was changed in 80% of the patients into symmetrical acceleration in medial cerebral artery, but the asymmetry seldom occurred in other arteries.
