Sažetak
HŽ Putnički prijevoz d.o.o. is national railway transport operator and is in charge for passenger transport, which does not have any competition within railway market. However, market liberalization will allow other transport operator to enter this particular railway market and then HŽ PP will be confronted with transport service sustainability in certain domestic routes due to the fact that costs at this particular routes are too high. Ticket sale in those routes doesn’t generate enough incomes. PSO contract is enhancing service sustainability and also compensates to operator for financial differences. Significant role has national Ministry, which can interfere and allow signing of PSO. By studying all the needs certain States in Europe, a project CONNECT2CE raised. Purpose of the project is to overcome obstacles which doesn’t allow territorial cooperation in a way of regional, peripheral and cross border collaboration between transport operators towards and from main regional/national EU networks and hubs. CONNECT2CE would like to improve qualitative and quantitative understanding and also raise the awareness of current and future need for regional public services in central Europe. By this, Project partners, local authorities and regional public operators will have tools and skills to enhance their own transport politics as well as operations.
