Sažetak

Online learning is a method of teaching in which the most of the learning content is delivered via web. This type of teaching method relies on modern technology, therefore it has a few advantages over traditional teaching, such as accessibility, individualization of learning time and space, and alternative models of learning. Since learning in an online environment is self-regulated, participants need to posses technical skills and level of motivation that will be held constant through the entire learning process. The aim of this survey was to determine the tehnical readiness and motivation of Croatian students for the online form of education and to determine whether there are differences based on socio-demographic factors. The study was conducted on a sample of 1318 students of Croatian universities. The research covered faculties and departments with courses in all scientific fields. Methods of descriptive and inferencial statistics were applied in the analysis. Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were applied, which showed that there was a statisticaly significant differences in some answers among students of different gender, status and scientific field of study.
