Sažetak

This paper deals with the network of schools, attendance and results of students and the position of teachers in the schools of Hrvatsko Zagorje during the interwar period (1918-1941). Special attention is given to the relation between hard socio-economic conditions and realized inadequate quantitative and qualitative breakthroughs in elementary education, as well as to the actual state of the implementation of educational politics in the specific area of Hrvatsko Zagorje.
