Sažetak

An increasing number of psychological problems
caused by stress impose the necessity of
research into the application of new technologies
in the prevention and treatment of mental
disorders. The use of smartwatches with built-in
physiological sensors allows for the detection
of cardiac rhythm and potentially some related
therapeutic procedures. Authors conducted heart
rate measurements using two different smart
mobile devices. The devices have been installed
with their own built-in Android Wear heart
rate measurement application, as well as two
commercial applications of the same purpose.
The accuracy of all measurements was controlled
by a professional psychophysiological measuring
device. The obtained data were statistically
processed, measures of central tendency were
determined and the obtained features were
compared. It may be concluded that some
smartwatches can even now be used for basic
forms of biofeedback therapy. Acquisition of
traditional professional equipment is not always
necessary. The proprietary mobile application
does not differ significantly in the measurement
accuracy from commercial. With further
development of mobile technologies, we can
expect that in the near future, the capabilities of
wearable devices for physiology monitoring will
be greatly increased.
