Sažetak
Elementary school presents the basis of further education and student's lifelong learning. At elementary school, students encounter the assessment of knowledge and school failure. The causes of failure vary from student to student. School failure usually results in stress. When children are given low grades, they will most likely be under stress because the grade is the feedback provided to the students about their abilities. The study was conducted on a sample of 111 participants (52 students attended school in the countryside and 59 in a town). Statistical analysis has shown that there are no differences between the student's understanding of school grades in the countryside and in town. Results have also shown that there are no differences between the effect of low school grades on the student's emotions between the countryside and the town. The only statistically significant difference has been found in the sincerity of students between the countryside and the town. Students living in the country tend to keep their bad grades more often secret than their urban counterparts.
