Standing before important jubilees of the Croatian Numismatic Society

Sažetak
It seems to have become a rule of many years standing for me to write you editorials of Numizmatičke vijesti about similar problems our periodical encounters. As each year draws to a close we always find ourselves standing before the same problems concerning our co-funding institutions. And while one Ministry regularly meets the dates contracted for financial support, the other Ministry, with its delay in co-funding,
still places us before problems. But it seems that this Ministry, too, will soon comply with its contracted obligations. Most important of all, however, is that this year as well our periodical will come out at the planned time. We are all proud of Numizmatičke vijesti because of its undoubted quality and because of its international renown. However, some very happy events related to the Croatian Numismatic Society are
also imminent. Next year, in 2018, we will celebrate the 90th anniversary of our Society (1928 - 2018). This great and important anniversary of the Society, as by far the oldest and most prestigious professional numismatic association in this part of Europe, will be
marked in a solemn and fitting way. We are looking forward to extensive preparations, organizational problems, arrangements for and implementation of the celebration of this extremely important anniversary. We must express our gratitude to and respect for
the group of citizens who founded our Society far back in December 1928, but also thank the generations that came after them, who through tireless work and dedication preserved the continuous activities of the Croatian Numismatic Society. And already in 2019 we will be celebrating a new jubilee, our periodical Numizmatičke vijesti will be marking the 80th anniversary of its publication. On that occasion we will remember all the authors and editors who invested parts of their lives in the life of our periodical. Decades of self-denying work have been woven into the professional and scientific articles of many Croatian and foreign numismatists. These numismatic testimonies echo as a memento for today’s generation, which is continuing this noble activity and tradition. That is why we wish that there will never be an end to the many ideas, sources and interpretations of numismatic treasures, whose richness and possibilities belong to a unique and inexhaustible field. For this reason we are inviting domestic and foreign numismatists to contact us as contributors to the next number of Numizmatičke vijesti in the jubilee 90th year of the Croatian Numismatic Society.
