Principles, Methods and Instruments for the Creation, Preservation and Use of Archival Records in the Digital Environment

Sažetak
Technological innovations in public administration require changes
in the approach to the management of records produced by it. The
beginning of establishing foundations for these changes can be found
in creating new definitions of record and its characteristics as well as
new theoretical views on context. The organization of records within
record-keeping systems is primarily performed by using archival
records and classification. In carrying out changes in record-keeping,
cooperation with experts in information technology is necessary, who
should particularly be sensitised to the problems connected with
permanent preservation of electronic documents.
It is mentioned in the paper that the Italian legislation has set the
time limit for the automation of record-keeping in administration
which is, with regard to the development of technology and the
training of personnel, probably too short.
