Sažetak

Nowadays most economists agree that capability to successfully and consistently innovate is the crucial element that differentiates successful firms from their less successful rivals. As a consequence, a country's economic situation depends on its innovative capability. New product, process or service development is a complex process, wrought with uncertainty and risk. This prompted development of methods whose purpose is to alleviate uncertainly and increase the chance for success. In this article author gives a short overview of the new product development process and the methods involved.
