Sažetak

In this article a communal family, that is specific family structure in our regions, is analyzed. Being very specific, it raises interest of local and foreign experts on family structure. Therefore this article is based both on local and international literature dealing with origin of communal family, its structures and ways life for each of its members. It also gives reasons for its decay. But some of values and behaviors, typical for that structure, exist still today. The article describes some elements of partnership that today ’s family is missing. And these elements might be helpful infighting individualism that is becoming more and more visible today in life of everybody.
