Sažetak

First poetic book of Marija Čudina Imaginary girls (1959) is recognized as a great start and one of the strongest poetic books in her poetry. Her main characteristics are spoken verse, intimistic drama of lyrical subject, theme of body and disaster of the world. In this paper we interprete relation subject – world which we conclude that it is paradigmatic for this book. Intimistic drama of lyrical subjectis polarized with cathegories of childhood and war from one side and existensialitic topoi from the other side. The surmise of death like intimistic cathegory centres subject in his solipsism and nonpossible lunge to the world. On the space and time relation before – now – after we model subject’s discoursive strategies and analyze his poetic speech. We divide this speech on speech about world and death and transgresive speech which defines aspiration to death. Within personal and impersonal speech like utterable modes, we model descriptive, impresive and reflexive discourse which are defined with its stylistic characteristics. With that model we extend understanding subject and world which are main characteristics of Čudina’s poetics and we focus the interpretative line to her whole poetic opus.
