Sažetak
Still there are no reliable proofs that the "new economy" brings lasting benefits in terms of higher growth of output and productivity outside hi-tech sectors of the economy. It yet remains to be seen if the cluster of innovations called the "new economy" will add to our material progress more or less than other important inventions of the 19th and 2Cfh century. The spread of expected benefits among states and regions will largely depend on organizational, scientific, educational and political factors.
