Sažetak

The exhibition presents the work of the architect F. Kéré. He is a leading figure of the socially-engaged contemporary architecture. He is well known for his efforts to involve the community in the construction of sustainable education centers. He has produced more than 30 projects mostly in his native Africa but he has also established his reputation in Europe, Asia and America. Transformations of the architect and his work are presented through different parts of the exhibition. and thematically cover the scope of his work. The narrative reveals a unique character of F. Kéré’s architectural work and transforms the visitor into a student. His intercultural experience is turned into a space for play and interaction. His prolific body of work is accompanied by a lavishly illustrated monograph with an impressive African colour palette. The monograph is thematically divided into five parts prefaced by the essays written by A. Beygo, P. Herrlea, L. Lokko i K. Pinther. Kéré is portrayed as a man who builds for people, an architect whose role is to be a mediator in cultural life while his architecture is depicted as a social endeavour. The exhibition was accompanied by interviews and workshops as well as a series of documentaries on African topics.
