Sažetak

The aim of this article is to analyze the novel The Fault of the Living by V.V. Kazakov and the book of textual fragments My Encounters with Vladimir Kazakov, which focuses primarily on the consideration of the dialogue principle as crucial in the works of this author. In the above mentioned texts the dialogue is expressed on several levels: as a means of auto-communication and self-reflection for the purpose of self-knowledge; in the structure of works (fragmentation); in the genre, the composition, as well as in the themes and motifs that are characteristic for the author’s entire poetics (the double, reflection, alienation, fear, loneliness, silence, window, mirror, clock, sleep, silence, etc.). The article also observes the dialogue as a means of reflection on the absurd and fringe existence of the hero—an illusion of difference between silence and words, meaning and meaninglessness, the inner and the outer.
