Rational Therapy of Depressive Disorders

Sažetak

The article gives the review of contemporary
pharmacological treatment of depressive disorders. The
authors present mechanisms of action of antidepressive
drugs, monotherapy of the first and second choice with
increased efficacy in the combination of two antidepressants
with different mechanisms of action. Further they present a
review of combined treatment of unipolar depression and
bipolar disorder, with the presentation of efficacious stimulation
of serotonergic and adrenergic neurotransmission. At the
end is discussed a “combat” combination of two antidepressants
for treating resistant unipolar depression.
