Carriage of goods by inland waterways in Croatia - de lege ferenda

Sažetak
In the Republic of Croatia the Inland Waterways Navigation Act (1998) is in force. The rules concerning the carriage of goods by inland waterways are mutatis mutandis equalized to the carriage of goods in maritime navigation. However, on the 1st of September 2004 Croatia ratified the Budapest Convention on the Contracts for the Carriage of Goods by Inland Waterways (entered into force 2005, April 1). That Convention with many new regulations obligates the Republic of Croatia. In expectation of the changes in our legislation the author analyzes the main characteristics of the Budapest Convention.
