Sažetak
The author divided the subject matter of this book into two parts. In the first part he elaborates the problem of ownership and other real rights on ships. He also explains the position of various persons involved in the employment of ships (shipowner, operator, manager, carrier, maritime agent etc.). Special attention is paid to
the limitation of shipowner's liability. In the second, central part the author gives a systematic analysis of the contracts for the employment of ships (contracts of carriage of goods, contracts of carriage of passengers, contracts of towage and contracts relating to the other maritime services). He further deals with important and complicated topic of carriage performed by several carriers. The matter of charter by demise is particularly elaborated. The final chapter of this part is devoted to the problem of the law applicable to the contracts of the employment of ships. Various examples of the maritime contracts and documents are enclosed to the book. This textbook is written clearly and concisely. It is a precious work that would be very useful for those engaged in a practical way with maritime law.
