Sažetak

Intense changes in organisation of work are imperative on a daily basis against the backdrop of rapid technological progress and globalisation. As a result of such global social phenomena both workers and employers are faced with new requirements. During the age of globalisation, employability is the main motive of emigration of a vast
proportion of the population. Hiring becomes comparable with “lottery”, while hiring people with disabilities is almost a “mission impossible”. People with disabilities are considered among the least desired labour, while employers are among the most important factors in the process of hiring of people with disabilities. The results in a sample of
employers (N=106) show that the most frequent reasons behind unemployment of people with disabilities are the maladjustment of the workplace, social prejudices and stereotypes about people with disabilities. If we are striving to change the attitudes towards
people with disabilities, we need to create conditions favourable for interaction between people with disabilities and those without developmental disabilities. Employers need to become informed about work potential of these people and about evaluation of their
contribution to work organisation through loyalty, regularity, commitment to work and reliability.
