Sažetak

The Rijeka road traffic junction, whose focal point is the Rijeka Bypass, is described in the initial part of the paper. A chronological presentation is given about preparations for bypass construction, about motorways included in the Rijeka traffic junction, and about all other roads included in this system. The traffic load is described and documented with appropriate data which show that this is one of the most trafficked road corridors in Croatia. A separate account is given of the addition of south pavement on the Orehovica - Diračje section, and the construction of the Sv. Kuzam to Križišće section.
