Publishing activities of Javna ustanova u kulturi Zvonimir of Solin (1992 – 2018)

Sažetak
So far publishing activities in Solin have not been dealt with scientifically and professionally, since this is a modest corpus, crated mostly after the year 1990. Besides a few town institutions, companies and societies dealing with publishing, Javna ustanova u kulturi Zvonimir (Zvonimir Cultural Public Institutite) of Solin have established themselves as the leading and largest publishers, with their two serial and twelve monograph publications. The paper presents publishing activities of the Zvonimir Institute from 1992 till 2018, by analysing contents and genres of the publications and their bibliographic characteristics.The paper is not aimed to valorisation of the publications but applies a bibliographic approach
and treatment of descriptive data, in order, based on these, to establish characteristics of the publishing activities of the Zvonimir Institute. The analysis results have demonstrated that these were not commercially and economically motivated, which has reflected to the number, type and contents of the publications published in the above stated period of time. Among these, the most numerous are fiction books by regional authors (mostly poetry) and non-fictional books dealing with regional and local themes (arts, religion, archaeology and history). The paper is added a widened bibliography with a chronological list of all the publications published by the Zvonimir Institute, made based on the data in the Croatian libraries online catalogues and the internal List of Publications of the Biblioteka Zvonimir. Therefore, the paper may be considered a contribution to the knowledge of publishing in Solin and a base for creating a future, more detailed bibliography that would contain lists of publications published by other publishers in Solin or publications related to Solin by their themes or authors.
