Sažetak

Soldiers of the Military Frontier fought numerous wars for the Habsburg Monarchy from the 16th to the 19th century. By the nature of their service they were susceptible to injuries and health difficulties that limited their ability to perform the service. The aim of this research was to analyse health conditions and most represented illnesses of Frontiersmen in the second part of the 19th century, as well as the Habsburg policy towards disabled soldiers and war invalids. The analysis is based on the case report and findings of the General Arbitration Commission of the Varaždin gen- eral command for the Đurđevac regiment in the military year 1860/61, kept in the Austrian State Archives.
