Sažetak
The paper aims to present some scattered material finds as evidence of Slavic raids and temporary settlements into predominantly Romanic Dalmatia and Istria in the early medieval period. Archaeological research of the period between the sixth and eighth centuries in eastern Adriatic coastal areas remains underpublished in Croatia, and there is still great divergence in the interpretation of this process among the various authors. It is now possible, however, to identify the main points of the interpenetration of these two cultures, Slavic and Romanic, on the eastern Adriatic coast. The process can be compared to some of the examples from the Adriatic hinterland but even more closely to the processes in the Greek coastal and island areas.
