Sažetak

Only nine letters of Rajmund Kunić written between 1754 and 1788 have been preserved and display a fragment of an undoubtedly voluminous correspondence and in his own day the sole means of communication among people at different ends of the world.
Six letters addressed to Ivan Marija Matijašević are focused on ecclesiastical problems and those of literary criticism. As a demanding critic of supreme criteria, Kunić was merciless even to his fellow dwelling poets (Luccari, Rogacci, Petrović, Giorgi). Only one of the letters is Matijašević’s reply to Kunić.
Brothers Lukša and Miho Sorgo are the addresses of three letters which unfold evident mutual sympathy. The letter to Miho Sorgo surpasses the others in style expressing Kunić’s gratitude upon receiving a Latin elegy dedicated to him by Giuseppe Taruffi, masterly translated by Miho Sorgo in Italian.
